Job Description
The Staff Hardware System Validation Engineer at Aurora is responsible for developing and executing validation and verification processes for autonomous hardware systems, collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure system performance, safety, and reliability from design to field deployment.
Key Responsibilities
- Define, develop, and execute test methodologies for verification and validation of autonomous hardware systems and components
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Hardware Systems, Safety, Test, Firmware, and Electrical Engineering
- Perform requirements analysis, architecture studies, and system characterization to establish performance metrics
- Drive cross-functional reviews and achieve consensus on design validation decisions
- Conduct sustaining engineering activities, including root cause analysis and corrective actions for field issues
- Support failure mode analysis and risk assessments through analysis and documentation
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or a related field.
- 7 years of proven experience in product development, hardware test, verification, validation of electrical and or electro-mechanical systems.
- Deep understanding of V V process, testing methodologies, statistical analysis, RCCA process for PCBA, module and system-level functions across Power, Thermals, Communication interfaces, Compute, Memory, Sensors.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with a proven ability to influence stakeholders.
