Job Description
The Staff Client Platform Engineer at Aurora is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining scalable and secure client device infrastructure across multiple operating systems, automating deployment and management processes, and collaborating with various teams to ensure security, efficiency, and reliability of client platforms in support of Aurora's self-driving technology initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain scalable and secure client device infrastructure for Windows, Mac, and Ubuntu systems.
- Automate device deployment, configuration, and management processes.
- Manage the lifecycle of client devices, including security patches, software updates, and configuration across multiple operating systems and hardware platforms.
- Collaborate with IT Support, InfoSec, and Developer Experience teams on client platform management strategies and solutions.
- Handle escalations related to client platform issues, providing mentorship and support to IT Support teams.
- Contribute to the development of tailored client device solutions to meet Aurora-wide and team-specific requirements.
Requirements
- Experience of at least 8 years in Client Platform engineering and at least 3 years in leading engineering solutions design to implementation at scale.
- Expertise with client device lifecycle management, including experience across multiple client operating systems and various hardware platforms.
- Experience with MacOS, Windows, and Linux system administration.
- Experience deploying configuration management tools such as Intune, Kandji, Puppet, Ansible, or Chef.
- Experience with automation and tool development, preferably using Powershell, Go, or Python.
- Strong change management skills, including rollout planning and communication, and collaborating with stakeholders.
- Understanding of client endpoint security concepts and experience applying security hardening to client devices, such as CIS Benchmarks.
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills that drive executional impact at scale.
- Experience with automating testing for imaging, provisioning, and configuration management.

Base salary range: $181,000 - $262,000 per year
