Job Description
A Senior Software Engineer responsible for developing and maintaining scalable backend systems to evaluate, detect, and resolve map issues for Aurora's autonomous driving technology, enabling the expansion of their operational domain and ensuring map quality and safety.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop software for detection, reporting, and resolution of map issues to support the expansion of Aurora Driver's operational domain
- Design, implement, and maintain scalable backend systems for evaluating map quality and managing issue resolution processes
- Develop and scale services and infrastructure for map evaluation and issue-reporting pipelines
- Collaborate with routing, localization, and mapping teams to define APIs and ensure data integration across systems
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues within distributed safety-critical systems
Requirements
- Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD degree in Computer Science, Robotics, or a related field
- At least 4 years of industry experience building software in a production environment
- Proficiency with developing backend systems using Python, including experience with gRPC and SQL databases
- Experience with software design in complex systems with many dependencies
- Ability to collaborate effectively in a cross-functional team environment
- Develop software in Python and C, using modern best practices
- Troubleshoot and solve complex issues within distributed safety-critical systems
