Job Description
A Senior Systems Engineer responsible for developing, executing, and analyzing tests to verify and validate Aurora's self-driving technology, supporting system safety, reliability, and performance through various testing methods and collaboration with development teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop strategies for testing the Aurora Driver using various testing methods
- Plan, execute, and analyze tests to verify system behavior and identify defects
- Collaborate with development teams to investigate root causes and resolve issues
- Communicate complex testing results clearly to stakeholders
- Design, develop, and implement test processes and best practices
Requirements
- BS degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or another relevant engineering field
- 8 years of highly relevant industry experience in test and evaluation of complex systems
- Proven experience in test methods, tools, and frameworks for complex systems
- Ability to synthesize data into meaningful information to support decision making
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Experience in testing high-risk and safety critical products
- Application of engineering and or operational risk assessment methodologies
- Proficiency in scripting languages e.g. Python, bash with an emphasis around data management for test reports
- Previous experience with autonomous systems particularly automotive-based
- Proficiency in requirements management and testing using JAMA
- Knowledge of automotive safety standards e.g. ASPICE, ISO 26262, SOTIF and familiarity with regulatory requirements or evaluation standards for autonomous vehicles e.g. UL4600, Euro NCAP
- Experience with sophisticated, mission-critical hardware and or software within a safety critical industry e.g. aerospace, defense, medical, transportation
- Familiarity with software development methodologies, version control systems e.g. Git, and continuous integration pipelines

Base salary range: 135,000 - 216,000 per Year
