Job Description
The Part-Time Remote Assistance Specialist at Aurora monitors and responds to trigger requests from autonomous vehicles during testing, providing remote commands, logging performance data, and supporting operational safety and efficiency in a collaborative environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor and respond to trigger requests from autonomous vehicles during testing and operation
- Safely send remote commands to autonomous vehicles on roads and testing sites
- Log real-time feedback on vehicle autonomy and platform performance for engineering review
- Triage and review remote assist workflows to ensure performance metrics and compliance
- Escalate operational issues with suggested solutions
- Collaborate on cross-functional projects to improve vehicle operations
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of self-driving technology and operational changes
- Interact with the public as a representative of Aurora
Requirements
- Ability to constantly focus on a laptop monitoring proprietary tooling to aid autonomous vehicle operations
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Keen attention to detail
- Ability to prioritize and make strategic decisions proactively
- Consistent focus on safety
- Ability to think critically
- Willingness to learn every day
- Valid U.S. driver s license with at least 5 years of driving history and a clean driving record, validated by MVR check
- Must pass initial and random drug and alcohol screenings
- Availability to work day or night shifts, including early mornings, late nights, rotating shifts
- Ability to work regular overtime and some weekends
- Respond to and resolve in a timely manner a variety of trigger requests from the autonomous vehicle
- Safely send remote commands to autonomous vehicles for on-road and closed course testing
- Log real-time feedback regarding autonomy and platform performance during testing, to be delivered to engineers
- Triage and review of remote assist workflows that are key to performance metrics and compliance
- Escalate operational blockers with suggested solutions
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of how self-driving technology works, including daily software and operational changes
- Work toward quantitative and qualitative goals that impact all of Vehicle Operations and Aurora
- Interact with the public as an ambassador for Aurora
Benefits & Perks
Compensation/salary range: $26.00 - $34.00 per hour
Work schedule: Day or night shifts, rotating shifts, overtime, weekends, up to 30 hours per week
