Job Description
The Mid-Level 3D Technical Director will develop synthetic environments and procedural scenarios using Houdini and Aurora's multi-modal simulator to support autonomous vehicle development, focusing on safety, testing, and advancing self-driving technology.
Key Responsibilities
- Build procedural scenarios using Houdini to develop synthetic environments for testing autonomous vehicle technologies.
- Utilize Aurora's multi-modal simulator (camera, lidar, radar) to advance the development of the Aurora Driver.
- Improve workflows and pipelines to reliably deliver high-quality software and datasets.
- Debug large distributed simulations to ensure accuracy and performance.
- Create new tools and assets to enhance the capabilities of Aurora's simulator.
- Apply AI tools to improve efficiency in simulation development and testing.
Requirements
- Proficiency in Houdini and an understanding of procedural and automated asset creation methodologies.
- Practical experience with Python and general scripting, with introductory knowledge of VEX being acceptable.
- Passionate about learning, growing technical skills, and willing to help solve impactful challenges in autonomous vehicle development.

Base salary range: $139,000 - $201,500 per year
