Job Description
A Project Engineer responsible for leading civil engineering projects related to public infrastructure, including roadway improvements, utility systems, and stormwater management, from planning through construction, while coordinating with clients, regulatory agencies, and multidisciplinary teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead civil engineering projects focused on public infrastructure such as roadways, utilities, stormwater management, and municipal facilities
- Apply engineering principles to design and review plans, specifications, and cost estimates for municipal and transportation infrastructure
- Manage projects throughout their lifecycle, from planning and design to construction administration, ensuring compliance with budgets, schedules, and regulations
- Navigate permitting processes and ensure regulatory compliance with local, county, and government agencies
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure successful project delivery
- Build and maintain relationships with municipal clients, public agencies, and community stakeholders
- Assist in business development by identifying new project opportunities and preparing proposals
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering from an EAC ABET Accredited University
- Professional Engineer (PE) Licensure is required
- Experience with public works projects in Washington State is preferred
- Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D, WaterCAD, StormCAD, and SewerCAD is preferred
- Ability to apply engineering principles and best practices to public works projects, including roadway design, water wastewater systems, stormwater management, and site grading
- Experience in preparing and reviewing design plans, specifications, and cost estimates for municipal and transportation infrastructure projects
- Experience managing projects from planning and preliminary design through construction administration, ensuring adherence to budgets, schedules, and regulatory requirements
- Ability to coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, including surveyors, planners, and environmental specialists, to ensure successful project delivery
- Ability to navigate local and county-level permitting processes for public infrastructure projects
- Experience working with municipal agencies, DOT, and other government entities to secure approvals and ensure regulatory compliance
- Ability to develop innovative solutions to address complex permitting and environmental challenges
- Experience building and maintaining strong relationships with municipal clients, public agencies, and community stakeholders
- Ability to assist in business development by identifying new opportunities and preparing proposals for public works projects
