Job Description
The Director of Survey is responsible for leading and managing survey operations, overseeing project planning, client relations, financials, team development, and business growth within the land development and surveying industry.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute strategic plans for survey projects
- Manage client contracts, define project goals, and oversee negotiations
- Oversee project invoicing, accounts receivable, and ensure financial alignment
- Coordinate internal communication and stakeholder engagement
- Mentor and support survey team members for professional growth
- Drive business development through marketing, client engagement, and proposals
- Ensure thorough documentation of projects using web-based tools
- Stay updated on industry trends and implement improvements
Requirements
- Proven experience in survey project management and leadership roles with at least 5 years of experience in a land development-focused survey leadership role.
- Bachelor’s degree in surveying, engineering, or a related field; an advanced degree is preferred.
- Professional licensure or certification in surveying, engineering, or related field.
- Excellent communication skills with a strong ability to engage effectively.
- Proficiency in engineering, environmental, land planning, and survey concepts.
- Strong organizational and time management skills with a track record of handling multiple projects.
- Ability to build and maintain client relationships and contribute to business development.
