Job Description
The Director of Survey at Atwell, LLC is responsible for leading survey projects, managing client relationships, overseeing project planning and execution, mentoring team members, and contributing to business development efforts within the land surveying and engineering industry.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute annual survey project plans and strategies.
- Collaborate with clients and management to define project objectives and prepare proposals.
- Negotiate and secure contractual agreements with clients before project initiation.
- Manage project invoicing, accounts receivable, and ensure financial compliance.
- Foster internal communication and coordinate across teams and sectors.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships, addressing concerns promptly.
- Support business development through marketing, presentations, and client follow-ups.
- Maintain accurate project documentation and utilize web-based collaboration tools.
- Coach, mentor, and develop team members for professional growth.
- Ensure project inputs adhere to quality standards and industry best practices.
- Stay updated on industry trends through ongoing learning and professional development.
- Achieve project performance targets related to chargeability, revenue, and invoicing.
- Apply survey and engineering concepts independently as needed.
- Organize project teams, assign responsibilities, and coordinate with sub-consultants.
- Analyze project data and trends to ensure project objectives are met.
- Manage project budgets, schedules, expenditures, and invoicing to meet financial goals.
- Report project outcomes and insights to management for continuous improvement.
- Work with stakeholders to define project timelines, budgets, staffing, and schedules.
- Contribute to a team-oriented environment to achieve collective results.
Requirements
- Proven experience in survey project management and leadership roles.
- Ability to independently apply fundamental survey and engineering concepts as needed.
- Strong organizational and time management skills to handle multiple projects and deadlines.
- Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, with strong listening abilities.
- Demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships with clients and stakeholders.
- Strong business acumen and ability to contribute to business development efforts.
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field such as surveying, engineering, or similar; an advanced degree is a plus.
- Professional licensure certification in surveying, engineering, or a related field.
