Job Description

The role involves analyzing and managing forestry-based carbon projects, including conducting feasibility studies, statistical and geospatial analyses, and ensuring compliance with carbon protocols, to support sustainable climate impact initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

Prepare feasibility analysis documents for landowner carbon projects
Perform statistical analyses of forest inventories and data sets
Analyze remote sensing data to estimate carbon sequestration and emissions reductions
Conduct silvicultural research across project regions
Manage geospatial data and produce maps using GIS software
Analyze financial costs and benefits of carbon project development
Review easements and harvest prohibitions for project eligibility
Articulate carbon analysis processes to landowners

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in forestry or another applicable discipline
1 or more years of professional experience in forestry or forest carbon-related field
Experience implementing afforestation reforestation activities
Experience working with a variety of forms of timber data
Knowledge of a variety of North American forest types
Experience in ArcGIS mapping and analysis
Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel, knowledge of database management a plus
Experience cleaning and troubleshooting data
Experience in statistical analysis
Knowledge of forest carbon policy, carbon protocols compliance and voluntary, and carbon accounting standards
Experience and comfort managing client and third-party relationships
