Job Description
The Strategic Finance Analyst at Alarm.com supports business strategy development, financial analysis, project management, and stakeholder collaboration to optimize growth and market positioning within a dynamic SaaS and IoT environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and analyze financial strategies, including unit economics and go-to-market plans.
- Design contract terms and negotiation strategies for customer relationships.
- Lead internal initiatives from conception to launch, managing multiple project responsibilities.
- Communicate proactively with cross-functional teams to ensure project alignment and information sharing.
- Evaluate addressable market opportunities to inform resource allocation and competitive positioning.
- Build and maintain dynamic financial models to assess business impact under various scenarios.
- Assess the effects of pricing, contracts, and business model changes through post-implementation analysis.
- Conduct competitive analysis, pricing research, and market testing to inform strategic recommendations.
Requirements
- 2-4 years of relevant professional experience which includes strategic finance, investment banking, consulting, FP A, or a similar data-centric role.
- An undergraduate degree, preferably with advanced coursework in Accounting, Finance, Strategy, Mathematics, and/or Economics.
- Working knowledge of accounting and financial concepts.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including V lookup, X lookup, index match functions, pivot tables, sumifs, etc.
- Excellent leadership skills and ability to thrive in matrixed organizations.
- Strong analytical acumen and attention to detail.
- Experience with subscription-based business models.
- Effective communication skills, comfortable presenting complex information to audiences with varying levels of financial acumen, including executives.
- Ability to develop, and execute, strategic objectives with a detail-oriented approach.
- Self-starter and proven team player in an achievement-oriented environment.
- Ability to develop creative non-traditional solutions with strategic thinking.
- Willingness to put personal ambition aside to achieve optimal outcomes through collective endeavors, contributing to value creation regardless of personal attribution and commendation.
