Job Description

The Software QA Specialist at OpenEye is responsible for testing and verifying software and hardware products, ensuring quality and functionality through Agile methodologies, and supporting the development team in maintaining high standards for video security solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct Agile QA testing for bugs and stories completed by the development team
  • Create and execute test plans based on software acceptance criteria
  • Interface with support and product management to diagnose and report customer issues
  • Manage testing of major feature development and coordinate with junior testers
  • Evaluate software and firmware applications for feature deviations and recommend updates
  • Configure and monitor long-term and integration tests
  • Identify and qualify customer use cases and environments
  • Mentor other Software QA Specialists and uphold QA best practices

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or a General Education Degree
  • A minimum of 8 to 10 years related experience and/or training in software quality assurance or a related field
  • Familiarity with web applications and web terminology
  • Working Knowledge of Hardware and Software troubleshooting on Windows and Linux operating systems
  • Experience with mobile operating systems (such as iOS and Android)
  • Proficiency in SQL Query, VSCode, and Postman
  • Knowledge of computer hardware components and networking terminology
  • Ability to configure and monitor long-term and integration tests
  • Experience in creating and executing test plans based on software acceptance criteria
  • Ability to interface with support and product management to diagnose and report customer issues
  • Experience in evaluating software and firmware applications for feature deviations from existing test plans
  • Ability to manage testing of major feature development including coordination with junior testers
  • Experience in recommending updates, fixes, and improvements to existing test plans to ensure accuracy
  • Experience in supporting and adhering to Agile QA processes, including participating in sprint planning and execution
  • Ability to work with project team members to identify and qualify customer use cases and environments
  • Experience in configuring and monitoring testing environments and scenarios
  • Ability to assist and mentor other Software QA Specialists
  • Support and uphold SQA best practices in day-to-day operations

Benefits & Perks

Compensation/salary range: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour
Work schedule: Paid vacation (15 days per year, increasing after 3 years), Paid sick wellness time (1 hour every 35 hours worked), 9 paid holidays per year
