Job Description

Alarm.com is the leading cloud-based platform for smart security and the Internet of Things.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead or participate in ad hoc projects and other duties, as assigned , to support evolving business priorities. • Assist the General Ledger (GL) team in other accounting areas as needed (e.g., fixed assets, accruals, intercompany) to meet company close deadlines. • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance. • 3+ years of relevant accounting experience, preferably in revenue accounting or public accounting for technology clients. • Strong knowledge of GAAP . • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, complex formulas, data modeling). • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities. • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. • Active CPA license . • Experience in a SOX-compliant , publicly traded company. • Experience with ASC 606 revenue recognition standards. • Prior work in SaaS or technology industries. • Experience with ERP and revenue automation tools (Microsoft Dynamics, NetSuite, Workday, etc.). • Familiarity with SEC reporting and revenue note preparation. • Analytical Thinking – Ability to interpret complex contracts and data to make sound accounting determinations. • Attention to Detail – Precision and accuracy in reconciliations and reporting. • Business Acumen – Understanding of SaaS metrics and revenue growth drivers. • Collaboration – Works effectively across teams and communicates complex concepts in a clear manner. • Adaptability – Thrives in fast-changing, high-growth environments. • Ownership Mentality – Proactively takes responsibility for deliverables and drives process improvements.
