Job Description

A Principal Product Designer leads design strategies across product initiatives, focusing on user research, usability, and creating impactful user experiences from discovery to launch, while guiding teams and ensuring alignment with business goals and customer needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead design strategies for product initiatives aligned with vision and business goals
  • Drive discovery of customer needs through research, testing, and engagement
  • Maintain and evolve design strategy for consistency, scalability, and usability
  • Oversee complex design projects from concept to launch ensuring quality standards
  • Mentor and develop junior designers and coach the product team in design best practices
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment on customer needs, business objectives, and technical feasibility
  • Integrate stakeholder and user feedback into design iterations and post-launch improvements
  • Review UX changes for adherence to standards and usability principles
  • Stay informed on industry trends, competitor offerings, and emerging technologies to inspire innovation

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), or a related field
  • 7 years of professional experience in product design, including senior or higher leadership roles
  • Proven track record of leading end-to-end product design for complex software applications from concept through delivery
  • Strong portfolio showing designs that address validated customer problems and deliver measurable impact
  • Demonstrated experience directly leading customer discovery efforts, including research planning, usability testing, and firsthand engagement with end users
  • Deep understanding of user-centered methodologies, usability principles, and accessibility standards
  • Exceptional collaboration and communication skills with the ability to clearly articulate the rationale behind design decisions
  • Proficiency with modern design tools such as Figma, Sketch, or Adobe XD

Compensation/salary range: 110,000 - 160,000 USD annually
Work schedule: 15 days of paid vacation per year (increases after year 3), 7 paid sick wellness days per year, 9 paid holidays per year
