Job Description
The Cloud Operations Administrator is responsible for supporting, monitoring, and maintaining Alarm.com's multi-site data center and cloud infrastructure to ensure high availability, security, and compliance across private, public, and hybrid cloud environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Support implementation, monitoring, and maintenance of cloud infrastructure
- Monitor and maintain private, public, and hybrid cloud environments
- Troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure issues
- Implement and manage system configurations and baselines
- Develop and enhance automation scripts for operational efficiency
- Provide operational support and incident response for cloud platforms
Requirements
- BS in Computer Science or related field
- 3 years of experience in private cloud environments
- Familiarity with hyper-converged infrastructure and multi-site architectures
- Working knowledge of Windows Server SCCM patching, clustering, DHCP, DNS, and Active Directory (AD)
- Experience with VMware stack vSphere, Horizon VDI, and Aria Suite
- Basic understanding of storage systems including NetApp, Pure Storage, and protocols such as FC, iSCSI, NFS, and SMB CIFS
- Experience with monitoring tools, both commercial and open source
- Scripting skills in PowerShell, Python, or Ansible
- Familiarity with backup recovery solutions such as Rubrik
- Experience with ITSM tools such as Jira and ITIL processes
- Working knowledge of Linux distributions including Red Hat, Ubuntu, and CentOS
- Ability to work in Agile teams and take initiative in problem-solving
- Ability to perform hardware installation, diagnostics, and upgrades
- Ability to manage structured cabling and maintain accurate documentation
- Ability to support out-of-band management and coordinate equipment logistics
