A Sr. System Integration Engineer responsible for designing, validating, and ensuring the reliability of large-scale renewable energy power systems, focusing on grid integration, hardware validation, and compliance testing using advanced simulation environments and infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities
Define and manage system-level requirements for utility-scale renewable energy power plants
Develop and execute comprehensive validation plans for system performance
Design, build, and maintain full-system test beds integrating high-voltage DC systems, battery simulators, and PV emulators
Perform performance reporting and validation for grid integration, including AC/DC systems and MV architectures
Ensure system compliance with UL 1741 and IEEE 1547 standards through testing of protection functions and grid-interactive behavior
Utilize HIL and SIL simulation environments to test and validate system reliability and performance
Requirements
Proven experience in driving and managing technical requirements for large utility-scale renewable energy systems.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in systems integration, hardware validation, or product development within the power electronics or utility industry.
Deep expertise in HIL simulation environments such as Typhoon HIL, RTDS, or Opal-RT and SIL frameworks.
Strong technical knowledge of LV MV grid integration, transformer performance, and utility-scale power distribution.
Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience with a focus on Power Systems and Control Theory.
Design, build, and maintain full-system test beds integrating high-voltage DC-DC converters, battery simulators, and PV emulators.
Full system compliance testing with UL 1741 and IEEE 1547 standards through rigorous testing of protection functions and grid-interactive behavior.
Own and execute comprehensive validation plans for utility-scale power grid integration, including AC/DC systems and Medium Voltage architectures.
Lead the definition and management of system-level requirements for large utility-scale renewable energy power plants.
Design verification, performance reporting, and validation of systems related to utility-scale renewable energy power plants.
Experience with industrial communication protocols such as Modbus TCP, CAN, and Ethernet (preferred but not mandatory).
Ability to perform failure analysis (FMEA) at both system and subsystem levels (preferred but not mandatory).
