Job Description
The Computational Geoscientist will leverage AI-driven technology to identify and develop geothermal resources, integrating geological and geophysical data to create innovative workflows and tools for geothermal exploration. This role requires expertise in programming, data analysis, and collaboration with cross-functional teams to optimize reservoir development and enhance the efficiency of geothermal energy production.
Responsibilities
- •Integrate geological and geophysical data for geothermal resource exploration.
- •Develop and implement software for geoscientific data assimilation and inversion.
- •Optimize reservoir development choices based on data analysis.
- •Conduct uncertainty quantification and value of information analyses.
- •Develop and deploy machine learning models for reservoir characterization.
- •Collaborate with cross-functional teams to communicate results and recommendations.
Requirements
- •Several years of programming experience are necessary.
- •Experience in one of the following: Geoscientific data assimilation inversion writing code for stochastic inversion of any type of geophysical or geological data, such as potential fields (gravity, magnetic, magnetotelluric), seismic (active, passive), production tracer data, or well log/well test data.
- •Experience in reservoir optimization optimizing reservoir development choices based on data analysis.
- •Experience in uncertainty quantification, or value of information analyses assessing the value of different geoscientific data.
- •Experience in machine learning for the geosciences developing and deploying machine learning models for aid in reservoir characterization or development workflows.
- •Experience in modeling geothermal systems, or faulted subsurface areas.
- •Effective communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams including exploration geologists, data science, and business leaders.
- •A Master’s degree with 3 years of experience or a PhD with 1 year of experience in quantitative earth sciences.
