Job Description
The Production Planning and Control role at VSL involves planning and managing the production process, including forecasting material requirements, scheduling production activities, and collaborating with various departments to ensure timely delivery of quality products. The position requires strong analytical skills and experience in an engineering manufacturing environment, preferably in aerospace.
Responsibilities
- •Create forecasts for material requirements based on demand
- •Cross-reference master schedules for programs
- •Strategically plan logistics for shipping and receiving materials
- •Collaborate with process engineers and material expeditors for production planning
- •Detail production scheduling and release to fabrication operations
- •Monitor PP C metrics and identify areas for improvement
- •Provide on-the-job training for AS9100D and CostPoint ERP
Requirements
- •Minimum 5 years of professional experience in an engineering manufacturing environment, preferably aerospace.
- •Related experience in material handling, control systems, and Enterprise Resource Systems, preferably Costpoint.
- •Experience in lean manufacturing.
- •Knowledge of production processes and quality control.
- •Math and analytical skills.
- •Technical skills using material requirements planning and scheduling software.
- •Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work well with all levels of employees.
- •Organizational and time-management skills.
- •Demonstrated experience in using MS Office suite products (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
- •Ability to interface and influence at all levels of a program and organization.
- •Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
- •Ability to thrive in a deadline-oriented environment.
- •Displays exemplary ethics and business conduct, and performs work cognizant of safe work practices.
- •Minimum Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Industrial Engineering, or related field.
- •US Citizenship.
