Job Description
The job involves leading a three-month consultancy in the Democratic Republic of Congo to assess the impacts of recent U.S. government funding cuts on immunization service delivery, focusing on data collection and analysis at the facility and district levels.
Key Responsibilities
- Co-lead the DRC in-country component of a rapid 3-month assessment on immunization service delivery.
- Inform the design for DRC activities and carry out data collection activities.
- Orient national and regional stakeholders to project goals and secure necessary permissions.
- Advise on region selection for data collection and adapt tools for the DRC context.
- Plan logistics and identify health facilities for data collection trips.
- Supervise and conduct key informant interviews with health staff and community workers.
- Share data and preliminary findings with R4D on a rolling basis.
- Synthesize findings and draft a report to share results for DRC.
Requirements
- The Contractor must have experience working with non-profit organizations.
- The Contractor must be able to conduct regular check-ins with R4D to confirm status of workplan implementation and troubleshoot any issues throughout the duration of the project.
- The Contractor must be able to inform the design for the DRC activities and carry out these activities whether individually or as part of a team.
- The Contractor must provide feedback on R4D-drafted data collection tools and key informant interview templates for use across 3-4 countries.
- The Contractor must translate data collection tools to French or appropriate local language and adapt tools for DRC context.
- The Contractor must supervise and/or conduct 2 one-week rapid assessment trips to 2 focal regions in DRC.
- The Contractor must perform and/or supervise and record key informant interviews of district staff, health facility staff, and community health workers with consent.
- The Contractor must share data and preliminary findings with R4D on a rolling basis.
- The Contractor must draft a brief report to share findings for DRC in English and finalize the report.
- The Contractor must provide DRC-specific input and feedback on R4D cross-country synthesis.
- The Contractor must conduct any phone or in-person follow-ups with interested government stakeholders.
- The Contractor must abide by all local and international standards and act with the utmost professionalism when engaging with the R4D team and external stakeholders.
- The Contractor must anticipate a minimum of 1-hour virtual check-ins on a weekly basis to discuss progress and troubleshoot any challenges.
