Job Description

The Metrology Engineer will be responsible for managing the reverse engineering process of key systems within a fusion power demonstrator, ensuring precise alignment and assembly through the collection and management of metrological data. This role involves developing workflows, transferring data for machining, and verifying parts to facilitate the construction of advanced fusion energy technology.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage the reverse-engineering workflow
  • Collect metrological data in the field
  • Manage and transfer metrological data to part models for machining
  • Organize and verify parts after completion and assembly
  • Ensure precise alignment and assembly of key systems and structures

Requirements

  • Ownership and management of the reverse-engineering workflow from start to finish.
  • Collection of metrological data in the field.
  • Management of metrological data and straightforward transfer to part models for machining.
  • Organization and verification of parts after completion and assembly.
  • Experience with metrology, CAD, and machining techniques.
  • Ability to work within the overall precision alignment plan of SPARC managed by the Manager of SPARC Metrology.
