Job Description

The role involves working as part of a multi-disciplinary team under the direction of a licensed Engineer, focusing on the design and management of plumbing and fire protection systems for various construction projects, while also assisting with HVAC designs and project management tasks.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform and direct design of ductwork, piping, and equipment selection for plumbing and fire protection systems.
  • Assist with HVAC designs as necessary.
  • Supervise or provide project management direction within the mechanical discipline.
  • Prepare Revit BIM modeling of construction drawings for plumbing and fire protection systems.
  • Edit specifications for existing or new projects.
  • Research and respond to emergent issues independently.
  • Specify mechanical equipment such as boilers, chillers, and air handling units.
  • Review shop drawings for compliance with specifications and contract documents.
  • Interface with clients and project team members, attending relevant meetings.
  • Respond to RFIs and review change orders in construction documents.
  • Conduct job site visits to verify existing conditions and observe construction progress.
  • Coordinate work activities on specific projects with team members.

Requirements

  • Minimum ABET EAC Bachelor degree or equivalent required.
  • Minimum of 6 years of related experience required.
  • Current PE in Mechanical or FPE in the United States required.
  • Must possess a working knowledge and experience, while still acquiring higher level knowledge.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Able to effectively handle multiple projects.
  • Experience in computer applications for engineering design programs i.e. Revit, Trane Trace or Trane 3D Plus required.
