Job Description
The role involves working as part of a multi-disciplinary team under the direction of a licensed Engineer, focusing on the design and management of plumbing and fire protection systems for various construction projects, while also assisting with HVAC designs and project management tasks.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform and direct design of ductwork, piping, and equipment selection for plumbing and fire protection systems.
- Assist with HVAC designs as necessary.
- Supervise or provide project management direction within the mechanical discipline.
- Prepare Revit BIM modeling of construction drawings for plumbing and fire protection systems.
- Edit specifications for existing or new projects.
- Research and respond to emergent issues independently.
- Specify mechanical equipment such as boilers, chillers, and air handling units.
- Review shop drawings for compliance with specifications and contract documents.
- Interface with clients and project team members, attending relevant meetings.
- Respond to RFIs and review change orders in construction documents.
- Conduct job site visits to verify existing conditions and observe construction progress.
- Coordinate work activities on specific projects with team members.
Requirements
- Minimum ABET EAC Bachelor degree or equivalent required.
- Minimum of 6 years of related experience required.
- Current PE in Mechanical or FPE in the United States required.
- Must possess a working knowledge and experience, while still acquiring higher level knowledge.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Able to effectively handle multiple projects.
- Experience in computer applications for engineering design programs i.e. Revit, Trane Trace or Trane 3D Plus required.
