Job Description
The role involves working as part of a multi-disciplinary team under the direction of a licensed Engineer, focusing on the design and management of plumbing and fire protection systems for various construction projects, while also assisting with HVAC designs and project management tasks.
Responsibilities
- •Perform and direct design of ductwork, piping, and equipment selection for plumbing and fire protection systems.
- •Assist with HVAC designs as necessary.
- •Supervise or provide project management direction within the mechanical discipline.
- •Prepare Revit BIM modeling of construction drawings for plumbing and fire protection systems.
- •Edit specifications for existing or new projects.
- •Research and respond to emergent issues independently.
- •Specify mechanical equipment such as boilers, chillers, and air handling units.
- •Review shop drawings for compliance with specifications and contract documents.
- •Interface with clients and project team members, attending relevant meetings.
- •Respond to RFIs and review change orders in construction documents.
- •Conduct job site visits to verify existing conditions and observe construction progress.
- •Coordinate work activities on specific projects with team members.
Requirements
- •Minimum ABET EAC Bachelor degree or equivalent required.
- •Minimum of 6 years of related experience required.
- •Current PE in Mechanical or FPE in the United States required.
- •Must possess a working knowledge and experience, while still acquiring higher level knowledge.
- •Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- •Able to effectively handle multiple projects.
- •Experience in computer applications for engineering design programs i.e. Revit, Trane Trace or Trane 3D Plus required.
