Job Description
The Senior Data Platform Engineer at Samsara will build and optimize a scalable data platform to support data-driven decision-making across the organization, working with technologies like Spark and AWS. This role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to develop high-performance APIs, manage data workflows, and ensure the reliability of the data infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate cross-functionally to design and implement end-to-end solutions using technologies like Spark, Delta Lake, and Golang.
- Develop high-performance APIs and interfaces to bring data insights to life for Samsara customers.
- Optimize data workflows and infrastructure for scalability, reliability, and speed.
- Design, scope, and build libraries and data management tooling for effective use of the data platform.
- Ensure uptime, reliability, and monitoring of the data platform.
- Champion and embed Samsara's cultural principles.
Requirements
- 4 year professional software experience in a production environment
- 4 years experience on building and maintaining a large scale production-grade data platform including a Data Lake for data scientists, analysts, and engineers
- Expertise working with Spark
- AWS knowledge and expertise including S3, Lambda, SQS, Kinesis

Compensation/salary range: 126,225 - 163,350 CAD
