Job Description
The internship at Sila involves supporting various aspects of environmental health and safety (EHS) operations, including the development and implementation of safety policies, conducting audits, and leading technical projects, all while gaining hands-on experience in a cutting-edge battery materials company.
Key Responsibilities
- Complete technical EHS S tasks end-to-end and provide tactical support.
- Assist with the development, implementation, improvement, and support for EHS S policies and training materials.
- Lead a technical project from start to finish.
- Assist with or shadow employee exposure monitoring studies, internal audits, and onsite training.
- Shadow members of the EHS S Department in Safety Teams and Committees.
- Accurately maintain EHS S documents, records, and data.
- Research and analyze relevant regulations, codes, and standards for compliance efforts.
Requirements
- Currently pursuing a BA/BS Degree or higher in Environmental Health, Occupational Health and Safety, Public Health, or similar field and returning to the program after the completion of the internship.
- Must be able to lift up to 20 pounds at times, 50 pounds with assistance.
- Must be comfortable in manufacturing and laboratory environments.
- Must be able to wear personal protective equipment when required and exercise compliance with safety procedures.
- Available to start in June.
- Required to work onsite in Alameda for a majority of their internship to cultivate hands-on skill building and learning.
Benefits & Perks
Compensation/salary range: $25/hr to $39/hr
Work schedule: Required to work onsite in Alameda for a majority of the internship
