Job Description
The Engineering Manager for the Routing Ops team at Samsara will lead and develop engineering teams to create innovative products that optimize fleet operations, enhance driver support, and improve dispatch efficiency. This role involves setting project goals, driving technical strategy, and fostering a high-performing team culture while delivering impactful features for customers.
Key Responsibilities
- Hire and mentor a team of engineers
- Define project plans and roadmaps
- Develop features that enhance customer experience
- Set standards of operational excellence
- Establish company culture focused on leadership values
- Collaborate with senior leadership on long-term strategy
- Drive technical strategy with senior engineers
- Set quarterly goals and balance product engineering priorities
- Plan and execute roadmap to deliver features and enhancements
- Champion and embed company cultural principles
Requirements
- 8 years of relevant software engineering work experience
- 3 years of hands-on technical management experience
- Experience building scalable, mission-critical SaaS applications
- Experience operating, maintaining, and improving upon large-scale application services
- Strong interpersonal communication skills including listening, speaking, and writing and ability to work well in a diverse, team-focused environment
- Strong track record of delivering products and features that customers love
- Proven record of attracting top-talent and coaching the team

Compensation/salary range: 142,800 - 184,800 CAD
