Job Description
The BI Engineer - Snowflake Developer at Pure Storage is responsible for designing, developing, and implementing business intelligence solutions using Snowflake as the data warehouse platform, while creating interactive dashboards in Tableau and managing the lifecycle of analytics dashboards and reporting.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the life cycle of analytics dashboards and standard reporting.
- Gather business requirements and write functional specifications.
- Design, develop, and implement BI solutions using Snowflake.
- Create engaging and interactive business insights dashboards in Tableau.
- Communicate with stakeholders to produce and maintain datasets and documentation.
- Mentor junior teammates.
- Propose data schema and data flow optimization for reporting performance.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders and data analysts to translate requirements into insights.
- Create and maintain technical documentation.
- Perform data warehouse and analytics solution design and development.
Requirements
- 6 years experience in Data Engineering of highly scalable data platforms ecosystems with hands-on experience in complex SQL.
- 3 years experience in Snowflake with knowledge in distributed computing preferred.
- Working knowledge of data visualization tools such as Tableau and/or Power BI.
- Hands-on experience with Python and Pyspark.
- Proficiency in SQL and database table design, able to write structured and efficient queries on large data sets.
- Experience in a role performing data warehouse and analytics solution design and development using a variety of techniques.
- Understanding of data architecture design, data modeling, and physical database design and tuning.
- Experience with data integration, ETL, and data warehousing concepts.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Math, Statistics, or a related field.
