Job Description
The Emergency Manager at Sila is responsible for overseeing emergency preparedness and response efforts to ensure safety within the organization and community, including risk management, equipment inspection, training, and regulatory compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify potential hazards and develop plans to mitigate risks.
- Oversee inspection programs for emergency equipment.
- Provide or assist with training on emergency response topics.
- Offer support during facility emergencies to response teams.
- Review and update Emergency Action Plans and response procedures.
- Schedule and document emergency response training with other departments.
- Develop, maintain, and update emergency preparedness materials.
- Foster relationships with local departments and facilities for response coordination.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local emergency response regulations.
- Prepare or participate in emergency incident reports and critiques.
- Develop and conduct emergency preparedness drills.
Requirements
- Associate degree or a minimum of 5 years related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- At least 3 years experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment dealing with highly hazardous chemicals, or 3 years of full-time emergency management experience.
- Basic computer skills and proficiency.
- In-depth knowledge of maintaining emergency response PPE and equipment.
- Experience in Emergency Response, Incident Command, or Unified Command Staff.
- Strong communication skills with thorough attention to detail.
- Experience in Environmental, Health, Safety, and Process Safety Management.
- Pass a respirator fit test and be able to wear respiratory protection on a daily basis.
- Wear personal protective equipment including, but not limited to, a lab coat, gloves, safety glasses, and steel toe safety shoes.
- Move items up to 50 lbs with the assistance of lift equipment and carts.
- Move long distances such as from building to building and be stationary for extended periods of time.
- Reach low shelves or items on the floor.
- Enter spaces narrower than 3 feet.
- Climb stairs or over containment walls.
- Precise and repetitive handling of a range of material quantities.
- Operate a computer and other office equipment, such as a laptop, copier, printer, etc. in a fixed location.

Compensation/salary range: $99,000 - $125,000
Work schedule: Onsite
