Job Description
The job involves developing and maintaining relationships with suppliers in wood fiber sourcing, ensuring supply meets production demands while adhering to sustainability standards. The role requires procurement expertise, knowledge of forestry practices, and strong communication skills to support the company's renewable energy goals.
Responsibilities
- •Develop and maintain productive relationships with suppliers in wood fiber sourcing categories
- •Communicate necessary information to suppliers in alignment with Enviva's core values
- •Procure financially beneficial fiber while ensuring supply volume meets production demand
- •Maintain knowledge of supplier operating capacity and ensure delivery plans satisfy supply plans
- •Track and communicate performance metrics with suppliers and suggest areas for improvement
- •Ensure suppliers provide current legal and sustainability documentation
- •Provide tract setup information to administrative staff for procurement compliance
- •Perform forestry sustainability certification related audits
- •Identify and validate new potential sources of supply as needed
- •Develop and communicate knowledge of the fiber supply business and competitor activity
Requirements
- •A bachelor s degree from an SAF accredited institution in forestry or related field or 7 years equivalent forestry experience
- •5 years of experience specifically related to working with and managing relationships with external logging fiber supply operations and purchasing timber from open market sources
- •Working knowledge of forestry, logging best practices, and sustainability certification schemes
- •Willingness to travel to and operate in remote outdoor environments
- •A valid driver s license and vehicle
- •Critical thinking capabilities to analyze market intelligence resulting in the most value-added decisions for overall plant performance and fiber cost
- •Strong communication skills and ability to understand manufacturing processes and to aid partnerships with operations leadership for the most beneficial actions to the business
- •Demonstrated proficiency in developing and maintaining supplier relationships
- •Demonstrated proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office software, particularly Microsoft Excel
