Job Description
The Engineering Intern will assist in managing engineering efforts for solar energy projects at various stages, producing designs using AutoCAD, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to support project development and execution.
Key Responsibilities
- Produce AutoCAD-based designs and drawings
- Utilize production estimating software to model and forecast energy output
- Develop preliminary site plans and single line diagrams
- Participate in the detailed design of utility scale solar electric systems
- Participate in project kickoff and completion meetings
- Provide feedback and support to Development and Delivery teams
- Share knowledge with coworkers and managers
- Contribute to a positive working environment
- Support thought leadership in the energy industry
Requirements
- Enrolled in or recent graduate of a bachelor or master's level program, pursuing an Engineering degree from an ABET accredited program.
- Baseline knowledge of the National Electrical Code, National Electric Safety Code, the International Building Code and other related codes and standards.
- Understanding of AC power distribution and transmission systems.
- Excellent professional written and verbal communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong presentation skills are a must.
- Drafting experience with AutoCAD.
- Technology savvy with advanced computer skills.
- A demonstrated ability with MS Office, MS Windows and project tracking software is required.
- Strong attention to detail and the organizational capacity to simultaneously manage multiple projects with competing deadlines.
