Job Description

The Pellet Mill Operator at Enviva is responsible for operating and maintaining pellet mills to ensure optimal production quality and efficiency, while adhering to safety standards and performing routine equipment inspections and maintenance.

Responsibilities

  • Operate and maintain pellet mills to ensure optimal feed rates and pellet quality.
  • Conduct QC testing and troubleshoot equipment malfunctions.
  • Perform required inspections and maintain equipment in good condition.
  • Adjust machine components to regulate speed, pressure, and temperatures.
  • Monitor machine operations and detect malfunctions using gauges and indicators.
  • Perform maintenance on equipment as per job instructions.
  • Maintain consistent production quality to required standards.
  • Follow workplace and job safety procedures.
  • Complete accurate reporting and communicate operational information.
  • Enter maintenance work requests and escalate issues for resolution.

Requirements

  • Must demonstrate mechanical aptitude.
  • Proficient in mathematics and measurements.
  • Ability to read data and trends to make appropriate process adjustments.
  • Proven record in upholding safety standards.
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • At least two (2) years of previous manufacturing experience.
  • Willing and able to work in outdoor environments and occasionally in temperatures above 100 degrees and below 32 degrees.
  • Willing and able to work in a hot, humid, cold and noisy industrial environment.
  • Willing and able to maintain strict adherence to safety rules and regulations, to include wearing safety equipment.
  • Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA.
  • Willing and able to perform tasks such as lifting, walking, climbing, stooping, standing, pushing and or pulling for up to twelve (12) hours a day.
  • Willing and able to pull and lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to climb a crane in excess of 100 feet high.
  • Ability to work from heights at least 20 feet off the ground.
  • Able to climb vertical ladders fixable or portable at unbroken lengths of up to 20 feet.
  • Able to climb multiple flights of steps, angled ramps as needed.
  • Able to work on computer screen format for up to twelve (12) hours a day.
