Job Description
Canonical is seeking a junior Legal Advisor or junior Legal Counsel to join their in-house legal team, where the successful candidate will draft, review, and negotiate commercial contracts while providing legal support across various internal clients in a fast-paced, multicultural environment.
Responsibilities
- •Report to the global general counsel
- •Draft, review, and negotiate commercial contracts with customers and vendors
- •Provide legal support to various internal clients across the company
- •Interface with cross-functional teams to support company initiatives
- •Utilize Canonical's contract management system for accurate data maintenance
- •Work with local counsel in various countries for legal advice
Requirements
- •An exceptional academic track record from both high school and university.
- •A degree in law, JD or equivalent, and active license to practice law or current progress towards that.
- •Strong organizational and prioritization skills with the ability to work in a fast-paced, multi-cultural environment.
- •Professional written and spoken English with excellent drafting and presentation skills.
- •Ability to travel twice a year, for company events up to two weeks long.
