Job Description
The Structural Engineer Intern will assist in field evaluations of industrial structures, analyze data, develop models, conduct calculations, and write reports, while gaining exposure to both office and field work environments.
Responsibilities
- •Support field evaluation of existing structures
- •Assist in development of calculations and analytical models in steel and/or concrete
- •Produce basic engineering sketches for drafting
- •Assist in developing reports
Requirements
- •Bachelor of Science in Civil Structural Engineering
- •Minimum of 0 years and maximum of 1 year of experience in a related field
- •Eligible to take E.I.T. within one year of start date
- •Basic knowledge of design codes required
- •Physical mobility on the ground and at heights
- •Ability to pick up, lift, carry, and move up to 50 lbs
- •Ability to work at heights, climb ladders and stairways, and occasionally work off platforms and scaffolding using the appropriate and required fall protection
- •Ability to work in all weather conditions including heat, rain, cold, and wind while wearing the appropriate PPE, which may include hard hat, safety glasses, goggles, ear plugs, masks, respirators, hi-vis safety vests, leather gloves, and leather, steel-toed work boots
- •Ability to position oneself to work in confined spaces
- •Ability to adhere to a client’s random drug testing program prior to entering their site
- •Ability to meet a client’s facial hair safety policy prior to entering their site
