Job Description
The Advanced Renewable Energy Intern at SB Energy will support the Intelligent Energy Management System projects, focusing on connecting and testing control systems for renewable energy devices, while gaining hands-on experience in renewable energy, controls, and data systems.
Responsibilities
- •Connect and test control systems for solar inverters, batteries, and computing loads.
- •Support setup and testing of AI-based control strategies at the Innovation Center.
- •Assist in creating and running test plans for control algorithms.
- •Gather and analyze system data to evaluate performance.
- •Help prepare results and recommendations for improvements.
- •Participate in the deployment of control systems into commercial projects.
- •Support the Innovation team with research, technology evaluations, and small projects.
Requirements
- •Currently pursuing a degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Renewable Energy, or related field.
- •Junior, Senior, Master's, or PhD students preferred.
- •Basic understanding of SCADA systems, data acquisition, or industrial controls.
- •Willingness to learn, intelligently experiment, and work both independently and as part of a team.
- •Strong communication skills and ability to document and present work.
- •Interest in renewable energy and emerging technologies.
- •Location in Denver, CO preferred or Redwood City, CA.
- •Travel to our Innovation Center in Colorado will be required depending on project needs.
