Job Description
The Director of EHS and Sustainability at SB Energy is responsible for managing the company's Environment, Health, Safety, and Sustainability operations, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, and driving process improvements across renewable energy projects. This role involves developing and leading ESG programs, managing carbon credits, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement within the organization.
Responsibilities
- •Manage and operate the company's Environment, Health Safety (EHS) and Sustainability operations.
- •Ensure compliance with environmental, health, and safety statutory requirements.
- •Sustain and improve EHS and Sustainability programs to meet industry and OSHA standards.
- •Oversee operational engagements to identify and correct potential environmental concerns.
- •Develop and lead the ESG program, including setting goals and establishing KPIs.
- •Prepare the annual ESG Report, ensuring alignment with disclosure requirements.
- •Coordinate and implement sustainable development programs such as CSR and Carbon Neutrality.
- •Manage Carbon Credits, CSR initiatives, and Environment and Social Compliances.
- •Drive process development and continuous improvement opportunities.
- •Manage EHS and ESG related KPIs and Dashboard.
Requirements
- •Bachelor's degree or preferably a master's degree in engineering, environmental science, industrial safety management or relevant field.
- •10 years of progressive EHS, Environmental Compliance and ESG management experience in multi-location renewable and/or energy construction.
- •5 years minimum leadership experience.
- •Strong understanding of compliance requirements with applicable local and state discretionary permits and environmental laws, including the Clean Water Act (CWA), Clean Air Act (CAA), National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA), Endangered Species Act (ESA), Migratory Bird Treaty Act (MBTA), Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA), and California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA).
- •Successfully managed distributed teams.
- •Demonstrated ability to influence at all levels.
- •Project management, root cause analysis, and problem-solving ability.
- •Demonstrated strategic perspective with ability to lead with data and implement with results.
- •Proven experience and leadership in implementing Innovative EHS and ESG solutions.
- •Strong written and verbal communication and presentation skills.
