Job Description

The Process Engineer-Weld position involves applying welding expertise to evaluate and improve weld processes for turbine engine components in the aerospace and marine industries, ensuring compliance with FAA regulations and customer specifications.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate engine components and weld processes for efficiency and compliance.
  • Solve weld process problems and improve processes economically.
  • Review and improve new and existing weld repairs and processes.
  • Provide technical support to sales.
  • Develop new repairs or processes and submit proposals for approval.
  • Ensure all required testing for process control is performed.
  • Ensure process quality requirements are met and documented.
  • Collaborate with personnel to maintain the company safety program.
  • Procure materials and equipment related to repair processes.
  • Communicate about repair processes and facility improvements.
  • Provide training and lead meetings for employee qualification and certification.
  • Support production with technical issues and documentation revisions.
  • Design or modify tooling and fixturing drawings.

Requirements

  • Must have advanced knowledge in welding and other manufacturing processes.
  • Two four-year technical degrees (BS Chemistry, Materials, Welding, Mechanical Engineering, etc.) or equivalent industry experience.
  • Communication skills at a college level in reading, writing, and conversational English.
  • Ability to comprehend complex technical information.
  • Ability to organize and maintain records.
  • Must have a general understanding of all internal systems at CRT after the trial and orientation period.
  • This position has pre-employment testing requirements that may require fitness for duty testing and a vision exam.
  • Follow general shop safety procedures including the occasional use of safety glasses, safety toe shoes, and hearing protection.
  • Must be able to stand and/or sit for portions of the shift.
  • The average work week for an engineer at CRT is not a typical 40 hour work week; engineers work overtime and generally will work between 45-50 hours a week.
