Job Description
The Construction EHS Engineer at Redwood Materials is responsible for managing construction safety for large projects, ensuring compliance with safety plans and OSHA requirements, and collaborating with various teams to identify and mitigate safety risks on-site.
Responsibilities
- •Identify, document, and resolve onsite safety risks during daily site walks
- •Document Daily Hazard Analysis using prescribed procedures and software
- •Evaluate and identify safety equipment needs for project work
- •Assist in investigations regarding accidents, injuries, or safety-related incidents
- •Ensure accurate documentation of worksite injuries and timely medical attention
- •Support evaluation of subcontractors and their safety programs
- •Notify management of non-compliant safety procedures and participate in corrective actions
- •Present toolbox-talk content to project site staff
- •Present project safety program progress to leadership
Requirements
- •3-5 years construction EHS experience required.
- •Associate Degree in Industrial Hygiene, Safety, or related field.
- •OSHA 30 certified within the last 5 years.
- •Skilled in Job Hazard Analysis.
- •Ability to write and review Site Specific Safety plans.
- •Ability to lead weekly safety meetings.
- •Lead weekly Site Audits with Sub-Contractors.
- •Able to identify onsite project safety risks and recommend mitigation within safety and project program requirements.
- •Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and or quantitative productivity standards.
- •Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards.
- •Ability to perform the necessary physical tasks associated with the position including bending, lifting up to 50 lbs., climbing stairs and ladders, standing, and walking multiple level building up to 8 hours daily, and an ability to work in manufacturing and construction environments.
