Job Description

The Construction Inspector at Atwell, LLC is responsible for overseeing municipal utility, road, and sidewalk projects, ensuring compliance with plans and standards while maintaining detailed documentation and facilitating communication among project stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Thoroughly inspect municipal utility, road, and sidewalk projects for compliance with plans and standards.
  • Maintain detailed documentation of the Contractor's work through daily inspection reports and photographs.
  • Keep an accurate log of contract days used and verify daily quantities of work.
  • Maintain records of personnel, equipment, and materials used in force account activities.
  • Review change order requests and facilitate necessary modifications.
  • Verify that materials delivered match approved submittals.
  • Conduct pre-project walks to identify and address potential conflicts.
  • Advise on traffic control measures and unsafe work conditions.
  • Coordinate scheduling for soils, asphalt, and concrete testing.
  • Collaborate with local residents to mitigate construction impact.
  • Maintain accurate as-built record drawings for future reference.
  • Keep the Owner informed about work progress and field issues.
  • Provide updated schedules to the Owner as needed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management from a four-year college or university, is required.
  • 1-4 years of experience in Civil Engineering or Construction Management, preferred.
  • Ability to work hours dictated by the Contractors schedule on short notice.
  • Ability to work outdoors in a variety of weather conditions.
