Job Description
The battery manufacturing technician at Blue Current will focus on producing battery materials and assembling cells to ensure high energy density and safety. This role involves hands-on work in a fast-paced environment, requiring a background in materials science or related fields.
Key Responsibilities
- Produce various battery components and assemble battery cells.
- Process electrode materials including slurry mixing, coating, and formation.
- Characterize cell materials using analytical techniques such as Rheometer and Microscope.
- Maintain organization and cleanliness of laboratory spaces.
- Perform preventative maintenance and calibrations on equipment.
- Complete material documentation accurately and timely.
- Adapt to evolving processes of core technology while maintaining detailed notes.
Requirements
- 3 years of work experience in a fast-paced lab or manufacturing environment requiring high accuracy execution of processes or experiments.
- Experience with powder process including powder mixing, synthesis process, sieving, and classification.
- Experience with roll to roll process and machine slot die, gravure, comma coating, calendering, and slitting.
- Experience with slurry mixing and handling powder, solvent, and various types of mixers.
- Experience with battery cell assembly including stamping, stacking, JR winding, ultrasonic welding, and pouch sealing.
- Previous glovebox dry room experience.
- Previous chemical manufacturing experience.
- Experience working in an environment that requires strong attention to detail and precision.
- Ability to work in a dry room and a glove box for extended periods of time.
- Ability to stand or sit for long periods of time and perform hand intensive repetitive tasks.
- Above-average fine manual dexterity and visual acuity.
- Working knowledge of Excel and Word.
- Strong interpersonal and organizational skills and experience working with team members to overcome technical challenges.
- Clear written and verbal skills to logically communicate ideas and thought processes.
- Appreciation for and adherence to lab and work safety policies.
- Ability to read and understand SDS.
