This role involves collaboration with a multidisciplinary team to validate simulations against experimental data.
Responsibilities
- •Perform electromagnetic analysis of superconducting magnets using finite elements and other methods.
- •Analyze non-linear, anisotropic behavior of high-temperature superconductors in magnet systems.
- •Incorporate multi-physics heat transfer, fluids, and mechanics into 3D FEA models.
- •Validate simulations against experimental data in collaboration with experimentalists and engineers.
- •Develop custom in-house code and extensions of commercial finite element analysis software.
Requirements
- •Perform electromagnetic (EM) analysis of superconducting magnets using finite elements and other methods.
- •Analyze the non-linear, anisotropic behavior of high-temperature superconductors (HTS) in both insulated and non-insulated magnet systems.
- •Incorporate multi-physics heat transfer, fluids, mechanics, etc. into 3D finite element analysis (FEA) models.
- •Work with a team of experimentalists and engineers to validate simulations against experimental data.
- •Familiarity with both commercial finite element analysis software packages and developing custom in-house code and extensions of commercial packages.
- •Participate in design and test activities with clear, concise communication to inform design decisions and correlate models to experiment.
