Job Description
The Controls Engineer at Zeeco will be responsible for the design, specification, and implementation of control systems for new development facilities, including PLC programming, P&ID generation, and troubleshooting. This role involves collaboration in facility design, construction, and commissioning support to optimize advanced combustion and environmental systems.
Responsibilities
- •Generate, design, and specify controls logic, narratives, diagrams, documentation, and instrumentation.
- •Assist in facility process and layout design.
- •Provide construction and commissioning support.
- •Write PLC programs.
- •Generate P&ID drawings.
- •Produce electrical requirements for equipment installations.
- •Assist in development of plant operating narratives.
- •Develop control panel BOMs and ISA data sheets for instrumentation.
- •Prepare cable BOMs, routing plans, and schedules.
- •Perform inspection and testing of equipment prior to operation.
- •Review and determine suitability of shop drawings and submittals.
- •Coordinate HAZOP documentation and implementation.
- •Travel to customer facilities for design development and troubleshooting.
Requirements
- •Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, chemical engineering, or mechanical engineering accepted with appropriate on-the-job experience.
- •5 years of experience in a controls role.
- •Experience with facility design and operation.
- •Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- •Ability to professionally and comfortably interact with all departments.
- •Ability to work in areas where temperatures and noise levels can be extreme.
- •Ability to work under pressure meeting deadlines.
- •Regular and reliable attendance.
