Job Description
A Senior Software Engineer responsible for developing and maintaining the energy retail platform's billing system using React, Node.js, and cloud technologies, contributing to sustainable energy solutions within a collaborative and innovative team environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, design, support, and test features for the Energy Retail platform's Billing team.
- Build and maintain frontend applications using React.
- Implement backend functionalities using TypeScript and Node.js.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure accurate, compliant, and timely billing processes.
- Contribute to software delivery within agile development teams.
- Create and execute unit and integration tests to ensure software quality.
- Work with cloud platforms, preferably AWS, and infrastructure as code tools like Terraform.
- Engage with event-driven systems and message queues such as Kafka or SQS.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to team members with varying technical skill levels.
- Maintain support processes and observability to ensure system reliability.
Requirements
- Strong proficiency in TypeScript and Node.js.
- Experience building and maintaining frontend applications with React.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms, ideally AWS.
- Some experience or exposure to event-driven systems or message queues e.g. Kafka, SQS.
- Solid experience with CI pipelines, SQL, and Infrastructure as Code e.g., Terraform.
- Experience in software delivery within agile teams.
- Strong knowledge of test approaches and experience in creating unit and integration tests as part of the development cycle.
- A quality-focused mindset with strong analytical problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with a range of technical skill levels in the team, providing guidance and mentorship as needed.
- Thorough understanding of support processes and observability.
