Job Description
The Market Operations Support Specialist supports wholesale power market operations by facilitating electricity transactions, monitoring client portfolios, and ensuring compliance across various regional markets through real-time system management and client communication.
Key Responsibilities
- Support real-time wholesale power market operations across multiple regions and resource types.
- Monitor and ensure valid submissions of client portfolios prior to market deadlines.
- Escalate and address system emergencies in accordance with operating procedures.
- Assist with internal system testing and maintenance of operational documentation.
- Provide helpdesk support for MarketSuite, APX System Infrastructure, and market knowledge.
- Communicate with clients via phone and email to facilitate information flow between clients and grid operators.
- Conduct research and document market changes, and provide internal feedback on products.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree, preferably in Business or technical field
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to react to quickly changing priorities and strict deadlines
- Strong analytic skills
- High level of attention to detail
- Ability to work rotating shift work, including days, nights, weekends, and holidays
- Support all clients including, but not limited to, Resource Management Dispatch, Outage, 24/7 Agent, Transaction Management, Day-Ahead Real-Time Scheduling, Helpdesk support for MarketSuite, APX System Infrastructure, and Market Knowledge
- Monitor all serviced client portfolios and ensure valid submissions prior to Market Deadlines
- Escalate and address all System Emergencies in-line with Operating Procedures
- Assist with internal system testing
- Maintenance and Development of Operational Documentation
- Daily reporting on market and client activities
- Knowledge of using ISO systems for outage reporting, scheduling, and dispatching
- Working knowledge of SCADA Systems
- Experience with testing Software or reporting software issues
- Basic SQL knowledge
- Proven ability to react calmly under tight deadlines
- Technical proficiency in Microsoft OS and Office Suite, SharePoint Collaboration
Benefits & Perks
Compensation expected to be between $60,000 and $75,000 depending on region
Work schedule includes rotating shifts, including days, nights, weekends, and holidays
