Job Description
The Water Wastewater O M Project Manager oversees the daily operations, maintenance, safety, and regulatory compliance of water and wastewater treatment facilities, managing staff, coordinating with stakeholders, and ensuring system optimization and emergency response.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee daily operations and maintenance of water and wastewater treatment facilities and lift stations
- Manage a team of union employees ensuring safety and operational efficiency
- Coordinate and communicate with operations, maintenance, clients, contractors, and engineering firms
- Ensure system operation and optimization through effective management and staff development
- Implement and manage asset management, repair, and replacement projects
- Respond to emergencies including process upsets, equipment failures, and alarm events
- Operate and manage SCADA system and CMMS
- Ensure regulatory compliance and prepare compliance reports
- Develop, track, and manage project budgets
Requirements
- Possess a minimum of 5 years of experience in water and wastewater treatment plant operations, maintenance, or project management.
- Have demonstrated experience overseeing the daily operations and maintenance of water and wastewater treatment facilities, including lift stations.
- Experience managing a staff of at least 7 employees, including union employees, in a supervisory capacity.
- Proven ability to coordinate and communicate effectively with operations, maintenance, client representatives, contractors, and engineering firms.
- Ability to ensure effective system operation and optimization of water and wastewater treatment systems.
- Experience in staff development and implementing asset management programs.
- Ability to administer and manage routine and capital repair and replacement projects.
- Experience in emergency response management for process upsets, equipment failures, force majeure events, and alarm events.
- Operational knowledge of SCADA systems and experience managing SCADA operations.
- Experience managing Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).
- Knowledge of regulatory compliance requirements and experience preparing compliance reports for regulatory agencies and clients.
- Ability to develop, track, and manage project budgets.
- Possess a valid driver’s license and the ability to operate a vehicle as needed for site visits and inspections.
