A Wastewater Treatment Maintenance Technician responsible for operating, maintaining, and repairing equipment at a wastewater treatment plant, ensuring efficient and compliant plant operations while supporting process monitoring and safety protocols.
Key Responsibilities
Operate and maintain the wastewater treatment plant and grounds
Monitor and adjust treatment processes
Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on plant equipment
Conduct daily inspections of operating sites
Perform data entry and generate reports for the Monthly Operating Report
Coordinate with staff to ensure compliance with administrative, safety, and operating policies
Supervise cost-effective operation of assigned tasks
Requirements
Possess the ability to perform basic mechanical repairs on pumps, compressors, valves, and other plant equipment.
Participate in the operation and maintenance of the wastewater treatment plant as directed by the Plant Manager or Plant Project Manager.
Perform preventative maintenance and repair of all plant equipment.
Conduct daily inspections of operating sites to ensure proper functioning and safety.
Perform process monitoring and adjustments of the wastewater treatment process.
Perform data entry and report generation, including data for preparing the Monthly Operating Report.
Coordinate with other plant employees to ensure adherence to established administrative, safety, and operating policies.
Work a schedule of eight days on, six days off, with shifts typically from 11:00 am to 9:00 pm (2nd shift) or 8:00 pm to 6:00 am (3rd shift).
Work from Wednesday through the following Wednesday and then have six days off, with weekdays being 10-hour days and weekends, holidays being 12-hour days.
Support the operation and maintenance of a wastewater treatment plant that treats industrial wastewater from a food and beverage facility in Crossville, TN.
Possess the physical ability to perform inspection, maintenance, and repair tasks in a plant environment, including working in shifts that may involve long hours and physical activity.
Have a high school diploma or equivalent (implied as minimum educational requirement for technical roles).
Be able to work in a team environment and follow instructions from supervisors.
Be committed to safety policies and procedures as established by the plant.
Be willing to participate in ongoing training and certification maintenance related to wastewater treatment operations (implied industry standard).
