Job Description
The Senior Payroll Specialist is responsible for accurately processing biweekly payroll, ensuring compliance with regulations, and collaborating with HR, Benefits, and Finance teams, while supporting year-end procedures and audits.
Key Responsibilities
- Process all payroll accurately and on time for all employees using Workday
- Perform biweekly payroll reconciliation and verify company totals monthly and quarterly
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll tax regulations
- Participate in year-end payroll processing and work with auditors to verify procedures and totals
- Support compensation-related activities in collaboration with HR, Benefits, and Finance teams
- Post entries to the general ledger accurately and timely
Requirements
- Ensure all payroll is processed accurately and timely for all employees in compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
- Oversee and complete biweekly payroll processing from start to finish through Workday.
- Perform biweekly reconciliation of payroll data.
- Verify monthly and quarterly company totals related to payroll.
- Participate in year-end payroll processing activities.
- Work with auditors annually to verify payroll procedures and company totals.
- Ensure entries to the general ledger are posted accurately and timely.
- Support employees with payroll-related inquiries and issues.
- Possess a strong customer service orientation and a collaborative approach, working closely with HR, Benefits, and Finance teams to support compensation-related activities.
