Job Description

The SCADA Controls Automation Project Engineer supports water, wastewater, and industrial projects across the New England region by leading automation and control system implementations, managing project lifecycle from planning to completion, and maintaining strong client relationships.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and manage SCADA control systems for water, wastewater, remediation, and industrial projects.
  • Lead medium to large-scale SCADA project implementations from planning through completion.
  • Oversee and lead SCADA project startups, preconstruction, and kickoff meetings at job sites.
  • Collaborate with municipal clients and internal teams to ensure project scope, schedule, and budget are met.
  • Maintain strong client relationships and serve as a trusted advisor throughout project lifecycle.
  • Coordinate and communicate project progress and technical details with stakeholders.
  • Mentor junior staff and contribute to initiatives that improve team performance and efficiency.

Requirements

  • Experience in developing, implementing, and managing water, wastewater, remediation, and industrial automation and control systems projects, with the ability to lead projects from planning through completion.
  • Ability to serve as the lead for medium to large-scale SCADA implementation projects, which may be standalone or multidisciplinary, ensuring project requirements are met within scope, schedule, and budget constraints.
  • Strong communication and technical skills to interface effectively with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders.
  • Experience in overseeing and leading SCADA project startups, preconstruction, and kickoff meetings at job sites, including regular travel within the New England Region, typically within driving distance, and occasional overnight travel up to 80% of the time.
  • Ability to serve as a trusted advisor to municipal clients and maintain strong client relationships throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Mentoring junior staff and contributing to initiatives that enhance team performance and efficiency.
  • Understanding of project management principles related to scope, schedule, and budget management for water and environmental projects.
  • Possession of a valid driver’s license and the ability to travel regionally up to 80%, including occasional overnight stays.
  • Educational background in engineering, science, or a related technical field relevant to SCADA and automation systems (implied but not explicitly specified in the posting).
