Job Description
The Industrial Wastewater Operator is responsible for operating and maintaining wastewater treatment processes for a food and beverage client, ensuring compliance with environmental regulations, troubleshooting operational issues, and performing related groundskeeping and maintenance tasks.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate the wastewater treatment plant in compliance with environmental regulations
- Perform daily rounds and monitor equipment operation
- Assist with equipment repairs and troubleshoot operational issues
- Maintain plant grounds through cleaning, pressure washing, and light painting
- Ensure safety and compliance standards are met during plant operations
Requirements
- Operate the Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP) in compliance with applicable local, state, and Federal environmental requirements.
- Perform daily rounds of the wastewater treatment plant to monitor operational conditions.
- Assist with equipment repairs, troubleshooting, and correcting operational problems at the wastewater treatment plant.
- Maintain safety, compliance, and produce the highest quality of treated wastewater on a daily basis.
- Perform grounds keeping activities including pressure washing, light painting, sweeping, cleaning, and shoveling as part of job duties.
- Work on a rotating shift schedule that may include first shift, second shift, weekends, and legal holidays, with the opportunity for overtime pay.
- Possess the ability to work in industrial wastewater treatment environments and handle physical demands such as shoveling and cleaning tasks.
- Have at least a high school diploma or equivalent (implied, as specific educational requirements are not explicitly stated but are standard for operational roles).
