Job Description
The Collections Utility Worker is responsible for operating and maintaining water and wastewater facilities, ensuring efficient process control, and supporting environmental and community health efforts. The role involves teamwork, adherence to safety protocols, and may be suitable for both inexperienced individuals and experienced professionals seeking a career in water utilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain water and wastewater facilities, equipment, and process control systems
- Assist in the operation of water and wastewater systems to ensure proper functioning
- Perform routine inspections and maintenance of facilities and equipment
Requirements
- Possession of a valid driver’s license and the ability to operate a vehicle as required.
- Willingness to work on a full-time basis, including scheduled hours from 7:30 am to 4:00 pm during winter and 6:30 am to 3:00 pm during summer, with overtime eligibility.
- Ability to perform operation and maintenance tasks at water and wastewater facilities, including handling equipment and process control systems.
- Experience or willingness to learn the operation and maintenance of water and wastewater systems, with positions available for both inexperienced individuals seeking their first full-time job and experienced professionals.
- Ability to work as part of a team responsible for the operation and maintenance of facilities, equipment, and process control at water and wastewater facilities.
- Physical ability to perform tasks related to operation and maintenance of water and wastewater systems, which may include lifting, bending, and working in various environmental conditions.
- Willingness to comply with safety protocols and procedures related to water and wastewater operations.
- Ability to work overtime as needed, with the position being eligible for overtime pay.
- High school diploma or equivalent (implied, as positions are open to inexperienced individuals and those seeking a career change).

Work schedule: Winter Schedule 7:30am - 4:00pm plus overtime, Summer Schedule 6:30am - 3:00pm
