Required Qualifications & Skills
Key Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities
Lead electrical hardware design of DX cooling units, including power distribution circuit, compressor/EEV/fan drive control, sensor sampling, protection circuit, wiring diagram, terminal definition and cabinet layout.
Define BOM for electrical components: VFD, controller, EEV driver, current/voltage/temperature/pressure sensors, contactors, circuit breakers, relays and power supplies; conduct component selection, evaluation and single-source risk management.
Develop electrical schematics, wiring drawings, panel layout, cable routing specification and test procedure; manage drawing release, revision and technical document control.
Conduct EMC, electrical safety and reliability assessment; organize related verification tests (surge, ESD, conducted/radiated emission, insulation, withstand voltage, over-current/over-temperature protection).
Support control logic integration with thermal system: compressor capacity regulation, EEV superheat control, fan speed modulation, alarm interlock, fault diagnosis and protection logic matching for DX refrigeration cycle.
Drive DFM review for electrical design, work with manufacturing and supply chain to optimize wiring harness, panel assembly and testability; support cost optimization of electrical bill of material.
Support prototype, pilot run and mass production ramp-up; troubleshoot electrical and control issues including communication failure, sensor drift, drive abnormal trip, protection misfire and wiring interference during NPI and volume production.
Resolve field quality escalations related to electrical hardware, drive faults, signal noise and protection failures; conduct root cause analysis and roll out corrective & preventive actions.
Track relevant industry standards, safety certifications and new electrical components for cooling equipment; complete benchmarking and technical pre-research for next-gen DX control platforms.
Align with thermal, mechanical and product teams to translate product requirements into electrical design, balancing safety, reliability, performance, cost and serviceability.
Required Qualifications & Skills
Bachelor’s degree or above in Electrical Engineering, Automation, Control Science & Engineering, Refrigeration & HVAC or related discipline.
3+ years electrical hardware design experience for HVAC / refrigeration equipment; solid experience in refrigeration unit power and control circuit design.
Proficient in E-CAD tools (EPLAN preferred); familiar with electrical drawing standards, low-voltage distribution, wiring harness design and component specification.
Hands-on experience with EMC and electrical safety test requirements; understand common protection mechanisms for compressor, EEV and fan drive systems.
Basic understanding of DX refrigeration cycle, superheat control and typical operating faults of direct expansion cooling systems.
Familiar with reliability test methodology for cooling products; able to conduct electrical fault analysis and design improvement.
Strong systematic thinking, good cross-team communication; capable of managing multiple tasks under tight NPI schedules.
Good English reading and writing skills for technical documents and global cross-team communication.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience on data center mission-critical cooling products (DX CRAC, in-row cooler)
Familiar with Modbus / BACnet communication and building management system integration
Practical experience with variable frequency drive commissioning and EEV control tuning
Experience supporting NPI from concept to mass production
Knowledge of IEC, UL and other global electrical safety standards for cooling equipment
