Job Description
A skilled Automation Engineer responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining automated systems in manufacturing to improve efficiency, quality, and productivity, while applying Lean principles and collaborating across teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze and improve manufacturing processes using Lean practices to reduce waste and standardize operations
- Identify and implement automation opportunities to optimize workflow and increase productivity
- Design, configure, and maintain automated systems to enhance efficiency and reduce manual labor
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot technical issues and ensure sustainable process improvements
- Monitor and evaluate system performance to meet quality and cost objectives
- Document process changes, maintain operational standards, and ensure compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory requirements
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering Mechatronics, Mechanical, Automation, or related field.
- At least 2 years of experience in industrial machine design, with electronics industry experience preferred.
- Proficiency in SolidWorks or equivalent 3D CAD software for machine design and manufacturing drawings.
- Strong practical knowledge of Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA) principles.
- Deep understanding of industrial automation equipment, electrical systems, and motion control.
- Functional programming skills in Mitsubishi PLC and/or ABB Robotics.
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and project management skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively and communicate effectively across teams.
- Competent in reading technical manuals and communicating effectively in English.
- Ability to work in a high-pressure environment for an 8-hour day, 48-hour week, and handle work in a busy setting.
- Willingness to work in a good environment with air conditioning and to travel on business trips as required.
