A venture capital associate role focused on sourcing and evaluating early-stage startups in deep tech areas such as AI, advanced materials, automation, robotics, and space tech, with responsibilities including industry trend analysis, startup screening, and investment documentation.
Key Responsibilities
Source and screen innovative early-stage startups in deep tech areas such as AI, advanced materials, automation, robotics, and space tech.
Create investment memos, analyze financial statements, and manage cap tables related to potential investments.
Build and maintain a network within the startup ecosystem, engaging with entrepreneurs and investors in deep tech sectors.
Assess industry trends and identify promising startups that align with these trends.
Support the due diligence process for potential investments by evaluating technical and business aspects of startups.
Requirements
A degree in a relevant field
A minimum of 4 years of related work experience
Strong understanding of deep tech
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Understanding of industry trends
Ability to spot early stage startups that are defining industry trends
Experience creating cap tables
Experience digesting financial statements
Experience preparing investment memos
Familiarity with leading entrepreneurs and investors in deep tech
Experience in a development or product management role related to one of the investment areas (hands-on experience is a plus)

Salary range between $120,000 and $155,000 per year (California-based roles)
